Waynesburg to host ECAC bowl game

The Waynesburg University football has been selected to host the ECAC Southwest Bowl Saturday at John F. Wiley Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets (8-2), who upset Presidents’ Athletic Conference champion Washington & Jefferson 31-28 in overtime Saturday, will play Buffalo State (7-3). Kickoff is 1 p.m.

Waynesburg will be playing in an ECAC bowl game for the fourth consecutive year. Buffalo State is playing in a postseason game for the first time since 2000, the last time the Bengals won seven games. Buffalo State is undefeated in three ECAC bowl games.

Buffalo State finished tied for third place in the Empire 8 Conference with a 5-3 record.

Waynesburg is one of two PAC teams to receive berths in ECAC games. Bethany (6-4) will play at Stevenson (7-3) in the Southeast Bowl.
