PITTSBURGH (AP) – Damon Lynn scored 27 points, including back-to-back 3-pointers that pushed NJIT into the lead for the final time as the Highlanders hung on to beat Duquesne 84-81 in a game that saw 10 ties and eight led changes Saturday.

The Highlanders (2-4) led by as many as nine late before holding on to hand Duquesne (2-1) its first loss. It’s NJIT’s first win over an Atlantic 10 team.

NJIT shot nearly 57 percent for the game, making 29 of 51 shots and 12 of 24 3-pointers. Lynn was 6 of 11 from 3-point range, hitting two in a row for a 63-61 lead at 12:44. He also had a career-high eight assists.

Duquesne came from nine down in the final 2:12 to get as close as 82-81 on a Derrick Colter 3-pointer with 27 seconds to play.

Micah Mason scored 18 for the Dukes, Colter and TySean Powell 14 each.
