South Fayette routs Sto-Rox for 23rd-straight win

Undefeated South Fayette scored six touchdowns in a span of less than 12 minutes in the first half and cruised to a 48-8 victory Friday night over host Sto-Rox in a Century Conference game.

Hunter Hayes scored on three touchdowns runs and Brett Brumbaugh passed for two scores as the Lions (7-0, 7-0) led 41-0 early in the second quarter.

Hayes, who rushed for 81 yards on nine carries, scored on runs of two, 13 and 30 yards. Brumbaugh completed 14 of 24 passes for 175 yards, which included TDs of five yards to Nick Ponkivar and seven yards to Logan Sharp, both in the first quarter.

Sharp also contributed to another score when he intercepted a Sto-Rox pass late in the first quarter, then lateraled to teammate Jake Relihan, who ran 18 yards to the end zone to make it a 34-0 score. Sharp caught three passes for 91 yards to help the Lions to their 23rd consecutive victory.
