Burgettstown knocks off Derry

DERRY – Jake McKee scored on a 1-yard run with 5:19 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift Burgettstown to a 13-8 Interstate Conference victory over Derry Friday night.

McKee rushed for 185 yards on 31 attempts for the Blue Devils (2-5, 2-6), who took advantage of four Derry fumbles.

Cole LaRocka scored on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Sell in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie for Burgettstown.

Derry (2-5, 3-6) answered early in the fourth quarter with a 17-yard run by Tyler Zalega and a two-point conversion to take an 8-7 lead.

Trey Friedline passed for 153 yards, while Josh Slack rushed for 115 yards on 20 carries in the losing effort.
