Peters Twp. golf teams 3rd at state tournament

Both the Peters Township High School boys and girls golf teams placed third Wednesday at the PIAA Team Championships held at Heritage Hills Country Club in York.
The PT boys shot 328 and finished only six strokes behind champion St. Joseph’s Prep, which shot 322. Runner-up Scranton Prep finished at 325.
The Indians were led by Jake Sollon, who shot 7-over-par 79. He was followed by Ben Morgret and Tanner Johnson, each with 82, and Alec Stopperich had an 85.
The Indians’ girls team shot 373. WPIAL champion Central Valley won its third consecutive state title by shooting 352. Mt. St. Joseph was the runner-up at 356.
PT was led by Mia Kness, who shot 80. Synclair Kuhn followed at 89, Brooke Hilden had 99 and Cate Deegan 105.
