Five Brumbaugh touchdowns lead Lions to 19th straight win

Senior quarterback Brett Brumbaugh passed for five touchdowns and South Fayette scored 40 poiunts in the game’s first 10 minutes en route to a 59-20 thumping of host South Park in a Class AA Century Conference game Friday night.

The win keeps South Fayette undefeated (3-0, 3-0).

The Lions scored six touchdowns in the game’s first 9:21. Brumbaugh, who was 13 of 19 for 270 yards, threw first-quarter touchdowns of 15 and 10 yards to Logan Sharp, and 61 and 15 yards to Roman Denson. Hunter Hayes ran 21 yards for a TD and returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown as the Lions bolted to a 40-0 lead.

South Park (1-2, 1-2) scored two second-quarter touchdeowns, but Brumbaugh threw 10 yards to Denson for his fifth TD and Hayes added a four-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

Sharp had four catches for 110 yards and Denson’s four receptions covered 111 yards.
