Maples ‘Rush’ past West Greene behind RB’s TDs

Matt Rush ran for two scores and Mapletown’s defense kept its opponent out of the end zone for the second consecutive week as the Maples defeated visiting West Greene 27-0 in a Tri-County South Conference game Friday night.

Mapletown (2-1, 2-1) led by only 7-0 at halftime, but scored once in the third quarter and pulled away with a 14-point fourth quarter.

Rush opened the scoring with a 27-yard run and tacked on an eight-yard TD run that made it 13-0 in the third quarter.

Adam Hein, who had five touchdown last week in a 30-2 win over Carmichaels, scored on a six-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Dylan Rush had an eight-yard scoring run late in the game.

Mapletown rushed for 242 yards with Matt Rush leading the way with 73.

West Greene is 0-3, 0-3.
