McGuffey tops Southmoreland behind big day from Whipkey

ALVERTON – Nate Whipkey completed 7 of 10 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns to lead McGuffey to a 42-14 win over Southmoreland in a Class AA Interstate Conference game Friday night.

McGuffey moved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Southmoreland fell to 2-2, 2-1 in the conference.

Whipkey hit James Duchi from 64 yards to open the scoring, then found Adam Narigon from 68 yards out to make it 14-0. With 9:04 left, Whipkey hit Shaun Sanders from 29 yards out.

Narigon caught 4 passes for 152 yards. Duchi rushed for 77 yards on 16 carries and scored on runs of 38 and 1 yards.
