Week 4 of the high school football season saw some strange occurrences, including a one-point win by Mt. Pleasant over Waynesburg, a final score that saved Chartiers-Houston against Northgate, a four-overtime game in Rogersville, where West Greene defeated Serra Catholic, 44-43, when Harry Ingram won by making the extra-point attempt. West Greene’s non-conference win overshadowed a 17-reception, five touchdown performance by Serra’s Joe Satira.

Fort Cherry scored in the final four minutes to upend Bishop Canevin. Nick Cook rushed for 311 yards and scored four touchdowns on 30 carries. He also had an interception in the 35-31 victory. Trinity won its first game of the season by unleashing a torrid ground game that rolled up 376 yards. Joe Koroly scored two touchdowns to put the game out of reach. Peters Township made it two in a row with a non-conference win over New Castle.

Bentworth defeated Avella as Felix Hernandez scored the final three touchdowns in the fourth quarter in a 42-26 victory. Hernandez broke open a 26-21 game. Angelo Rios-Lopez threw for 342 yards and Bentworth had 540 yards of total offense. South Fayette won its 20th game in a row with a 48-6 romp over South Allegheny. Brett Brumbaugh threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Beth-Center and Wash High each improved to 4-0 with routs of Brownsville (51-12) and Carmichaels (59-6).
