Boys soccer: Another shutout win for Trinity

Sophomore midfielder Alec Belcastro scored early and Trinity held on for a 2-0 win over South Allegheny in a non-section match Monday evening.

Belcastro’s gave the Hillers (8-1-1) a 1-0 lead at halftime and senior midfielder Anthony Salvatori added a goal in the second half. Senior midfielder Dawson Hilk assisted on both goals.

Junior goalkeeper Ben Johnson recorded his fifth straight shutout.

The Gladiators have now lost three straight and are 3-5 overall this season.

• Mario Mastrangelo scored tow goals to lift Peters Township over Bethel Park, 3-0, in a non-section match.

Nicco Mastrangelo broke the scorelesss tie in the 10th minute on a direct kick. Mario gave the Indians (4-1, 8-1) a 2-0 lead with a goal assisted by Dylan Weyers then scored again in the second half on a corner kick by Wes Ward. Josh Deyarmin recorded the shutout for Peters Township. The Black Hawks are now 5-4-1 overall.
