Sparked by interception and kickoff returns for touchdowns, Avonworth defeated visiting Fort Cherry 42-13 Friday in a Black Hills Conference game.

The Antelopes (4-0, 5-0) led 21-0 at halftime before Fort Cherry (2-2, 2-3) pulled to within two touchdowns in the third quarter when Devin Brown caught a 13-yard TD pass from Anthony Panizza. But Avonworth’s Jamal Hughley returned the ensuing kickoff 78 yards for a score. The Rangers drove deep into Avonworth territory on the next possession, but Paul Hefflin picked off a pass and returned it 99 yards for a 35-7 lead.

FC’s Scott Miller caught a five-yard TD pass from Panizza in the fourth quarter.
