South Fayette gives Rossi 100th career victory

CARNEGIE – Brett Brumbaugh passed for 268 yards and threw four first-half touchdowns to four different receivers as undefeated South Fayette rolled over host Carlynton 41-7 Friday night to give Lions head coach Joe Rossi his 100th career victory.

South Fayette improved to 5-0 in the Century Conference and overall. Carlynton remained winless.

Brumbaugh, who completed 13 of 15, threw touchdown passes of seven yards to Logan Sharp and 47 yards to Roman Denson to give the Lions a quick 14-0 lead. Jasper Wolfe added a 20-yard scoring run to push the Lions’ advantage to 21-0 lead after one quarter.

Brumbaugh tacked on touchdown passes of 10 yards to Ryan Schmider and 66 yards to Nick Ponikvar in the second quarter. A 27-yard TD run by Robert O’Kelly made it a 41-0 score at halftime.

Carlynton scored the only points of the second half on a fumble return in the third quarter.
