J-M girls win 3rd straight
Kayla Yorko and Erin Confortini combined for 26 points to help Jefferson-Morgan defeat rival Carmichaels, 50-26, in a non-section game.
Yorko had 15 points and Confortini added 11 for the Rockets (3-0), who are holding opponents to an average of less than 30 points this season.
Megan Walker and Kaitlyn Wilson each had six points for the Mikes (1-2).
Beth-Center 45, Mapletown 29: Beth-Center went on a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to come away with a 45-29 victory over Mapletown in a non-section game.
Kinlee Whited led the Bulldogs (2-1), who outscored Mapletown, 23-11, in the second half. Mary Gustovich added eight points.
Kayla Smith paced Mapletown (0-3) with eight points.
Sewickley Academy 50, Avella 26: Maddy Casale scored a game-high 28 points and Sewickley Academy used a 24-point halftime lead to defeat Avella, 50-26, in a non-section game.
Mackenzie Lightcap added nine points for the Panthers (2-1), who won despite making just four of 13 free throws. The Eagles (1-2) were led by Joelle Gossett’s eight points.
West Mifflin 67, McGuffey 41: West Mifflin used three double-digit performances to defeat McGuffey, 67-41, in a non-section game.
Omrie Murphy led the Titans (1-1) with 18 points, while Jenna Dabels added 15 and Autumn Adams had 11. McGuffey (0-3) was led by Katie Demi’s 22 points.
Fort Cherry 45, Clairton 17: Hannah Green had 15 points as Fort Cherry stormed past Clairton, 45-17, in a non-section game.
The Rangers (1-2) led just 6-2 after one quarter but went on a 16-4 run in the second quarter to pull away.
Jacquelle Gaynor had 11 points for Clairton (0-3).
West Greene 73, Hundred, W.Va. 34: Mckenna Lampe had 21 points as West Greene stormed out to a 46-18 lead and cruised to a 73-34 non-section victory over Hundred, W.Va.
Madison Lampe added 17 points and Kaitlyn Rizor had 16 for the Pioneers (2-0).
Josie Phillips led Hundred (0-2) with 12 points.
