Slow start to 2nd half costly for W&J men at Thiel
GREENVILLE – Luke Kochka scored 16 points and Thiel used a16-4 run to start the second half to pull away for a 73-56 victory over Washington & Jefferson Tuesday night in a Presdients’ Athletic Conference men’s basketball game.
Thiel (2-1, 4-5) led 33-26 at halftime and scored 16 of the first 20 points – over a 6:43 stretch – to forge a 19-point advantage. The Tomcats led by as many as 22 points in the second half.
The win keeps W&J (0-3, 0-8) winless on the season. The Presidents did get another big game from Brian Graytok, who scored a team-high 19 points. Kodie Hanley (Chartiers-Houston) came off the bench to score 10 points.
