Trinity takes second at North Coast Classic Wrestling Tournament

Trinity finished second out of 32 teams with 335 points and had seven wrestlers place at the North Coast Classic Wrestling Tournament in Independence, Ohio.

Greensburg Salem took first with 413 points. For Trinity, A.D. Nelson (113) placed eighth, Michael Kolosky (126) eighth, Ryan Yocum (132) placed third, Gino Cecchine (145) fifth, Dante Cecchine (152) eighth, Dawson Leavines (182) fifth and Austin Fife (heavyweight) took fourth. Ringgold did not place.

• McGuffey swept the competition at the John Marshal Duals, defeating its five opponents and having five wrestlers go undefeated at the tournament in Moundsville, W.Va.

The Highlanders defeated John Marshall, Ripley, Buckhannon Upshur, Oak Glen and East Fairmont. Teague Nicolella (126), Gage Nicolella (132), Aaron Harris (138), Jeffrey McConn (145), Connor Thompson (182) and Colby Deemer (195) each went 5-0 during the two-day event.
