Offense struggles as Cal men fall at IUP
Anthony Glover led a balanced scoring attack for Indiana and the Crimson Hawks pulled away down the stretch Wednesday night for a 62-51 victory over visiting California in a PSAC West Division men’s basketball game.
The win pushed IUP (4-3, 7-5) above the .500 mark for conference play and one game ahead of Cal (3-4, 4-7).
The Crimson Hawks led 29-21 at halftime and California could draw no closer than four points in the second half. The Vulcans, who received 14 points from Richard Smith, trailed 54-48 with three minutes remaining but IUP went on an 8-0 run to seal the victory.
Daddy Ugbede scored 12 points and Brandon Norfleet had 10 for IUP.
Cordell Smith had 10 points for Cal, which was only 4-for-9 at the free-throw line in the first half and 9-for-16 in the game.
