Wrestling: Waynesburg has 4 champions at Invitational

The host team had four champions and finished second in the team standings Saturday at the Waynesburg University Invitational at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
Waynesburg finished with 180 1/2 points, only eight behind team champion Ohio Northern. Alderson-Broaddus finished a third in the eight-team tournament.
Waynesburg’s champions were Filippo Crivelli (133), Dominic Ciarmella (141), Ryan Shank (174) and Patrick Jennings (184).
Crivell won a 6-4 decision over Cole Cochran of Ohio Northern in the finals. Ciarmella won two bouts by fall to reach the finals, then pulled out an 8-7 decision over teammate Dennis Grindle.
Shark upset top-seeded Tyler Gargano of Ohio Northern 5-2 in the semifinals, then dominated in the title bout, winning a 13-0 major decision over Brian Ohl of Alderson-Broaddus.
Jennings, a senior and Trinity graduate, won his title by defeating top-seeded Adam Adkins of Ohio Northern, 7-5.
Grindle was one of four second-place finshers from Waynesburg. Gordon Bieber (125), Sam Guidi (165) and Greg Kumer (heavyweight) also were runners-up.
