Rebecca Kerr led four Waynesburg University players in double figures with 21 points Monday as the Yellow Jackets evened their Presidents’ Athletic Conference women’s basketball record with a 79-69 victory over host Westminster.
Waynesburg (3-3, 6-7) won for the fourth time in five games.
Cassidy O’Keefe, a transfer from Slippery Rock who became eligible at midseason, scored 15 points off the bench for Waynesburg. Addy Knetzer had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Katie Gehlmann scored 10 points.
Waynesburg led 37-27 at halftime but Westminster (0-6, 1-12) remained within striking distance in the second half until the Yellow Jackets went on a 10-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Gehlmann, to open a 70-53 lead with five minutes remaining.
Allison Borts had a big first half and finished with game-highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds for Westminster. Kylie Cook followed with 11 points and Rachel Durbin contributed 10.
