BOSTON (AP) – Organizers of Boston’s Olympic bid have unveiled their plans to bring the Summer Games to the city in 2024.

The privately funded group Boston 2024 made a public presentation on Wednesday that was just like the one that convinced the USOC to make the city the American nominee. Boston now goes up against potential bids from Rome, Paris, Germany and South Africa.

The IOC is scheduled to make its decision in 2017.

The bid presentation included drawings of potential venues, such as a temporary stadium on a former tow lot south of the city that would be connected to downtown Boston by a pedestrian walkway along an existing waterway. Another cluster of venues would be centered west of downtown near the Harvard football stadium.

The first public meeting of the bid committee’s citizen advisory group was scheduled for later Wednesday.
