ROSEMONT, Ill. – Monica Abbott fired a two-hitter with 16 strikeouts, sitting through a rain delay in the top of the seventh inning, as Chicago shut out the Pennsylvania Rebellion, 1-0, in an NPF game Saturday.

Abbott issued four walks, but the Rebellion (5-18) went 0-11 with runners on base and 0-9 with runners in scoring position.

Kristyn Sandberg had a triple for Pennslvania, which wasted a fine pitching effort by Haylie Wagner, who allowed just five hits in six innings.

Abbott improved to 5-1 on the season for the Bandits (18-6) with the victory.
