Trinity grad Riotto an all-star

Penn State outfielder Nick Riotto, a Trinity High Schol graduate, was named to the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League’s Red all-star team, which will be played tonight in Mason, Ohio.

Riotto, who is playing for the Galion (Ohio) Graders, leads the league with a .420 average and a .500 on-base percentage in 69 at-bats. He also has six doubles, a triple and 10 RBI in 19 games.

The summer baseball league consists of college players from across North America and all players use wooden bats.

As a sophomore for the Nittany Lions this spring, Riotto batted .265 in 41 games, including 26 starts, with one home run, 17 RBI and 16 runs.
