BLOOMSBURG – Kaitlynn Fratz scored 32 points and grabbed five rebounds, as No. 18 California earned a spot in the women’s PSAC Tournament championship game with a 63-48 victory over host and 12th-ranked Bloomsburg Saturday.
The Vulcans, who improved to 25-4, trailed 15-14 with just over nine minutes remaining in the first half, but went on a 20-12 run to close out the first half against the Huskies (24-4). Fratz had 22 of the Vulcans’ 34 first-half points.
Fratz and Mikki Glenn, who had 16 points and eight rebounds, had 12 points each in the second half for the Vulcans, who advance to face West Chester (24-4), a 63-59 winner over IUP Saturday, in today’s finals. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Seairra Barrett came off the bench to score seven points and grab a team-high 10 rebounds for California, which had just four players score in the game.
Adreana Sadowski had 13 points and Marla Simmons 12 for Bloomsburg.
