Canon-McMillan scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning Sunday to edge Landon Prep of Bethesda, Md., 8-7, at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Big Macs ended their spring trip with a 2-1 record.

C-M overcame an early 3-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth. Landon Prep forged a 6-6 tie with a three-run sixth inning, but C-M scored twice in the top of the seventh and then held off a rally in the bottom of the inning.

All eight of Canon-Mac’s hits were singles. The Big Macs scored on the seventh on a single, sacrifice bunt, walk, fielder’s choice and two bases-loaded walks.

Ian Hess was the winning pitcher in relief of Matt Mish.
