Johnny Defranco had two hits, four RBI and scored twice Friday as California ran its home winning streak to 24 consecutive games with an 18-0 three-inning non-section win over Frazier in a high school boys baseball game.
Casey Zajicek had a double and four RBI, while Garritt Woodburn picked up the win for the Trojans (3-0).
Frazier falls to 0-2.
• Jacob Kinsell and Billy Bowlen combined on a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks as Carmichaels won its first game for new head coach Richard Krause, beating Geibel Catholic, 10-0, in a six-inning non-section game.
Kinsell struck out eight in five innings, while Bowlen had three in his one inning for the Mikes (1-0). Mike Blasinsky hit a two-run homer, while Darren Krause also drove in two runs.
Kyle Toth took the loss for Geibel (0-2).
• Eric Cohlan and Nico Marcheleta combined on a two-hitter as Thomsa Jefferson edged Trinity, 4-1, in a non-section game.
Thomas Jefferson (3-2) scored three runs in the first inning, including two on a throwing error.
Dom Neff was the losing pitcher as Trinity dropped to 1-3 despite allowing only four hits.
Paige Galentine pitched a one-hitter and Olivia Gray hit a grand slam to help Trinity to a 12-2 win Friday over Lodi (N.J) at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Galentine struck out four and drove in two runs for the Hillers (3-0), and Gray’s home run in the sixth inning put the game out of reach. Payton Barr also drove in a run.
Trinity started the day with a 4-2 win over Kearney (N.J.) behind Riley Riotto, who had a double, a triple and three RBI. Addie Barr entered the game in relief and was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts.
