Baseball: Cal splits with Slippery Rock

California University’s baseball team split a PSAC West doubleheader with Slippery Rock, falling 9-8 in the first game and winning 14-6 in Game 2 Tuesday at Jack Critchfield Park.

Cal is 11-12 overall and 8-4 in the conference. Slippery Rock is 11-12 and 4-8.

In the opener, David Marcus finished 2-for-3 with two homers, four RBI and two runs scored. Mick Fennell was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, while Levi Krause and Jared Grove each had two hits.

In the second game, Marcus finished 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Fennell went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and McGrath, Wastchak and Grove each registered two hits and scored a combined five runs.
