All-PAC baseball team announced

Waynesburg’s Brian Resnik and Washington & Jefferson’s Riley Groves were honored Tuesday as the co-pitchers of the year in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.
W&J’s Jeff Mountain was named coach of the year.
Resnik, a junior from Burgettstown, finished 9-2 this season with a 2.38 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 79,1 innings pitched.
Groves, a sophomore, went 9-1 with a PAC-best 1.59 ERA. He had three shutouts to lead the conference.
Mountain won the top coach honors for the sixth time in his career. The Presidents finished fourth in the regular season standings but won the conference tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Thomas More junior designated hitter Donovan Pogue was named conference player of the year.
W&J landed four players on the first-team list for all-conference honors. In addition to Groves, third baseman Kyle Smith, outfielder Nick Vento and pitcher Jared Baird were honored.
Resnik was joined on the first team by Waynesburg first baseman Jonathan Kletzil.
Former California High School star Zac Edminston was named first-team for Bethany as a utility player. Edminston batted .349 with a team-best 14 extra-base hits. He also made Edminston made eight starts as a pitcher, winning three games and posting a 4.36 ERA in 43.1 innings.
Canon-McMillan graduate Kevin Forrester, a sophomore pitcher at Thiel, was named to the second team.
Waynesburg will travel to Penn State Behrend Thursday to play for the ECAC Division III Southwest Baseball Championship.
The first two games will be played at noon and 4 p.m. Thursday, with an if-neccessary game to be played at noon Friday.
Waynesburg (21-18-1) finished second in the regular season in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference standings and third at the conference tournament.
Penn State Behrend (26-12-1) finished second in both the regular season and postseason tournament in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
