LATROBE – Collin Liberatore threw a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and also tripled as Greensburg Central Catholic defeated Carmichaels, 10-0, in a WPIAL Class A quarterfinal playoff game at Latrobe.

With the victory, Greensburg Central Catholic (18-3), the No. 2 seed in Class A, advances to face Bishop Canevin in today’s semifinals at 4:30 p.m. at West Mifflin. Carmichaels sees its season end at 13-4.

Tommy Pellis added a home run for the Centurians, who also got doubles from Cole Reese and Nick Roperti in a 10-hit attack that saw them score four runs in the first inning, two in the third and four in the fourth.

Jacob Kinsell took the loss for Carmichaels, recording one strikeout to go with three walks.
