NORMAL, Ill. – Patrick McKenna came up a double short of hitting for the cycle and drove in six runs as Normal overwhelmed Washington, 12-1, Friday night in a Frontier League game.

McKenna hit an RBI triple in a five-run third inning, then hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to chase Wild Things’ starter Ryan Bores from the game.

Bores allowed nine runs, eight earned, on 11 hits in just 3 1/3 innings for Washington (1-6).

His counterpart, Michael Schweiss, had no such problems with Washington’s lineup, scattering five hits and allowing one run in seven innings to get the win for the Cornbelters (4-3).

Sam Mende had two of Washington’s five hits in the game.
