Waynesburg drops opener to Muskingum in OT
NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Muskingum outscored visiting Waynesburg, 14-7, in overtime, coming back from being down 11 points at halftime to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 90-83, in a non-conference men’s basketball game.
Josh Glass hit a pair of free throws with 5 seconds remaining in regulation to give Muskingum a three-point lead, but B.J. Durham hit a three-pointer coming out of a timeout at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
Jalen Paige had 24 point and seven assists, Joshua Keyes had 16 points, Glass 15 and Rickey Wilson 14 for the Fighting Muskies (1-0).
D.J. Ritchie scored 25 points, Durham 24 and Nate Libishak 10 for Waynesburg (0-1).
Notre Dame (Ohio) 86, California 69: Tyree Gaiter and Will Vorhees had 26 points each as Notre Dame (Ohio) topped California, 86-69, Saturday night at the 2015 MEC/PSAC Challenge.
Vorhees and Ja’Sean Lewis added eight rebounds each for Notre Dame (1-0), which outrebounded California (0-1) 51-34.
Luka Andjusic had 15 points, Khlil Jabbie 12, Cordell Smith 11 and Richard Smith 10 for California. Richard Smith also had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Vulcans.
