Waynesburg’s Gerber qualifies for D-III nationals
Waynesburg University sophomore Julie Gerber has qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Gerber earned a spot in the Nov. 21 race by finishing in 17th place Saturday at the Mideast Regional.
Gerber is the first Waynesburg cross country runner, male or female, to qualify for the national meet. She posted the best time of any Presidents’ Athletic Conference runner at the regional (22:42.1). A Uniontown native, Gerber will be the lone women’s representative from the PAC at the D-III Championships, which will be hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.
