Pitt-Johnstown runs away with win over Cal men
JOHNSTOWN – Four of Pitt-Johnstown’s starting five reached double figures as the Mountain Cats defeated California, 93-61, in a PSAC game.
Pitt-Johnstown (1-0, 2-1) shot 50.7 percent from the field and forced 16 turnovers. The Vulcans (0-1, 0-3), meanwhile, shot only 32.7 percent, making just six of 26 in the first half. Nate Snodgrass and Isaac Vescovi both scored 15 points for the Mountain Cats, whie A.J. Leahey chipped in 13 and Dale Clancy had 12.
Pitt-Johnstown led 42-19 and by as many as 43 points in the second half. Though they outrebounded Cal 40-38, the Mountain Cats scored 25 second-chance points and made 15 three-pointers.
Cal was led by Corell Smith’s 13 points and Nate Bellhy had 11.
