STATE COLLEGE – Cameron Jones made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points, and Radford beat Penn State 86-74 on Tuesday night.

Rashun Davis added 18 points and YaYa Anderson scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, for Radford (4-2). Brandon Holcomb had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Highlanders, who made 12 of 22 3-pointers.

Jones and Anderson scored eight points apiece during a 22-9 run the Highlanders used to take control with 8:03 to play. Penn State chipped away and made it a two-possession game with 3:36 left but Davis hit his second 3-pointer with 3:17 remaining to put it out of reach.

There were four ties and 17 lead changes in the game.

Julian Moore led Penn State (2-2) with a career-high 16 points.

Radford: Redford won back-to-back games for the first time this season. It’s the team’s first two-game winning streak since it followed a Feb. 11 win last season with a victory three days later.

Penn State: Penn State’s 12-game home winning streak against non-conference opponents was snapped. The Nittany Lions had also won 10 of their last 11 games before the Thanksgiving break before Tuesday’s loss.

Redford hosts James Madison Monday.

Penn State hosts Bucknell Saturday.
