CLAYSVILLE – Marcus Czulewicz’s 56-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage in the second half Friday night was the beginning of a 21-point third quarter as McGuffey defeated Brownsville 42-12 in Interstate Conference action.

The win was the fourth in a row for McGuffey (3-1, 4-1)

Czulewicz also had a 5-yard TD run and threw a 35-yard TD pass to Joey Townsend. The Highlanders were led by running back Adam Townsend, who totaled 138 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

The McGuffey defense forced three Brownsville (1-4, 1-3) turnovers, including a 32-yard interception return by Shaun Sanders for the game’s opening score at the 9:30 mark of the first quarter.

Brownsville only managed to find the endzone twice, both by way of 1-yard touchdown runs.
