WILKINSBURG – Monessen scored three first-half touchdowns before officials called an Eastern Conference game in the third quarter after a fight broke out against Wilkinsburg, giving the Greyhounds an 18-0 win Saturday afternoon.

Monessen’s program is already on probation this season after school officials told the WPIAL last March about the use of two inelgible players last fall. Along with probation, Monessen forfeited all four of its wins from 2014.

Monessen (4-1, 4-1) was on offense with 6:59 left in the third quarter when a fight broke out following a play. Officials decided to call the game after discussing the situation with officials from both schools.

Monessen head coach Joe Salvino declined to comment on the incident.

Senior LaValle Rush rushed for, passed and caught touchdowns for Monessen. He ran for a 9-yard score in the first quarter, threw a 17-yard pass to Jaden Altomore for a 12-0 lead and caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Altomore with just a second left in the first half.

Rush completed 4 of 11 passes for 80 yards, ran for 44 yards and had one catch. The Tigers (0-5, 0-5) have lost 13 consecutive games.
