OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Baltimore Ravens obtained wide receiver Chris Givens from the St. Louis Rams for a conditional draft pick.

Baltimore desperately needed help at the position because of injuries, and they’re hoping Givens can help. Now in his fourth NFL season, the 6-foot Givens has 88 catches for 1,433 yards and four touchdowns.

He also returned kickoffs for the Rams.

The trade comes after Baltimore lost two receivers during Thursday’s 23-20 overtime win over Pittsburgh.

Starter Steve Smith hurt his back and was listed as day-to-day Saturday, and Michael Campanaro was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a back issue.

Various reports say Smith suffered four broken bones in his lower back from a hit in the third quarter from Steelers linebacker Lawerence Timmons, while Campanaro suffered a ruptured disc.

Givens was originally selected by St. Louis out of Wake Forest in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Davis doubtful: San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is listed as doubtful for today’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Davis left last week’s 47-7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals with a right knee injury and did not return. He attempted to practice Thursday and Friday but left the field at the start of team drills to work on the injury with the training staff.

Davis, 31, has eight catches for 109 yards and no touchdowns through three games. He missed two games in 2014 while dealing with leg and back injuries, marking the first time he didn’t appear in at least 15 games since 2007.

Despite being listed as doubtful, Davis didn’t rule himself out against the undefeated Packers.
