Case Western rolls over Waynesburg
CLEVELAND – Rob Cuda had a nearly perfect day against Waynesburg Saturday in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference football game.
Cuda completed 25 of 28 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns and ran nine times for 63 yards and three more scores as Case Western Reserve defeated visiting Waynesburg, 45-14.
Two of Cuda’s TD passes went to Bryan Erb, who had nine catches for 106 yards as Case Western (4-0, 4-1) built a 35-0 lead in the first half before Waynesburg (1-3, 2-4) got on the board with 38 seconds remaining in the second quarter on a 6-yard TD catch by Willie Leavell from Jake Dougherty.
Case Western controlled the time of possession in the game, running for 280 yards and punting once as it held the ball for just over 39 minutes.
Doughery was 16 of 31 for just 104 yards, while the Yellow Jackets had less than 50 yards rushing in the game until Austin Wilson broke loose for a 54-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.
