Sowinski leads Springdale past Monessen

Ben Sowinski scored four touchdowns as Springdale dealt Monessen’s playoff hopes a big blow with a 30-12 Eastern Conference victory over the Greyhounds.

The Dyanamos (4-2, 4-2) picked up the all-important tiebreaker with the Greyhounds (4-2, 4-2), who play Jeannette and Clairton in the next two weeks, by limiting them to 72 total yards.

Demond Jordan returned the game’s opening kick 84 yards for a touchdown and also had a 15-yard TD run in the first quarter, but Springdale scored the game’s final 23 points.
