Tush does it all in Bentworth win over California

BENTLEYVILLE – Ethan Tush scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter and six in the game, rushing for 327 yards and gaining 498 all-purpose yards, as Bentworth ran broke open a close game en route to a 49-27 Tri-County South win over California.

Nick Barron recovered a fumble in the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter to pull California (1-4, 1-5) to within on point at 21-20.

But Tush scored on runs of 55 and 73 yards and then returned an interception 46 yards to put the Bearcats (5-1, 5-1) ahead, 42-20.

California’s Jonathan Wood, who had 125 yards on 21 carries to lead the Trojans, scored his second TD with 43 seconds remaining from 2 yards out to make it 42-27. Tush then finished the scoring with a 50-yard run.

Bentworth’s Josh Hughes passed for 140 yards and a touchdown. Cal’s KC Zajicek had 112 yards rushing on only 11 carries.
