Trinity used a first-half goal by Corey McMurdy and a big performance by goalkeeper Ben Johnson to defeat visiting Wheeling Park 1-0 at Hiller Field.

McMurdy scored off a feed from teammate Jimmy Beechum and that was enough support for Johnson, who made 15 saves. Trinity improved its overall record to 8-3-2 and gave head coach Ryan Julian bragging rights as he was coaching against his brother, Mario, who is Wheeling Park’s coach.

• Alex Adams and Tyler Jacobs scored to propel California to a 2-0 win over Washington in a Section 4-A match.

The Trojans are 5-5 in section and 6-6 overall, while the Prexies are 1-11 in section and 1-12 overall.
