Boys soccer: Bentworth clinches Section 4-A title
Four diferent players scored to help Bentworth clinch the Section 4-A title with a 4-0 victory over Beth-Center.
Chad Gurdish, Darius Hays, Jacob Davis and Felippo Temporin scored for the Bearcats (12-3-2). Will Bashioum and Austin Curry combined for the shutout.
Beth-Center is 6-6 in section and 7-8 overall.
• Matt Cillo and Priamo Pershietti scored to led South Fayette over West Allegheny, 2-1, in a Section 5-AA match.
Tim Locher earned the shutout for the Lions (10-1, 12-2). Cooper Amos scored for the Indians (5-5-1, 8-7-1).
• Mcaiger Wall scored three goals to lift Chartiers-Houston to a 3-1 non-section win over Washington.
Max Dragic scored for the Prexies (1-11). The Bucs are 3-12-2 overall.
• Charleroi defeated California 3-1 in a Section 4-A match. No other details were made available to the Observer-Reporter.
• Chase Sirera scored a pair of goals as Peters Township defeated McGuffey, 5-1, in a non-section match.
Logan Brinsky, Jake Obringer and Kule Kelly also scored for the Indians (10-4-2).
Aaron Harris had a goal for McGuffey (9-6).
• Nick Sodini had three goals and Ian Brumbaugh had two as Canon-McMillan defeated Mt. Lebanon, 7-0, in a non-section match.
Brandon Byer and Andrew Balog added goals for Canon-McMillan (13-2), while Christian Snatchko had the shutout.
Mt. Lebanon falls to 3-12.
