Wild Things shut out Boomers

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Washington scored four runs in the top of the 11th inning for the only runs of the game as the Wild Things shut out the Schaumburg Boomers, 4-0, Thursday night in a Frontier League game.

Tim Giel threw seven shutout innings, Kolin Stanley went two more and Jonathan Kountis pitched the final two innings for the win. He is 3-3.

Washington’s scored the first one in the 11th on an errant throw. Matt Ford had an RBI double and Jimmy Yezzo smacked a two-run single to make it 4-0.

Taylor Thurber tossed eight shutout innings, allowing two hits for Schaumburg.

Wild Things manager Bob Bozzuto sat out the game, serving a suspension because the Wild Things surpassed the number of player ejections permitted in a season.
