South Fayette runs winning streak to 33 games

Hunter Hayes rushed for three touchdowns, Drew Saxton threw for a score and two-time defending state champion South Fayette extended its winning streak to 33 with a 48-0 victory over host East Allegheny Friday night in the Century Conference.

Hayes ran for 122 yards on 16 carries that included first-half scores of 15, six and 10 yards. Geovanie Love also ran for two scores, covering one and 15 yards, for the Lions, who led 34-0 at halftime.

Saxton, making his first varsity start at quarterback, completed 11 of 17 passes for 155 yards and a 58 yard TD to Cameron Garland late in the first half.

The Lions’ defense held EA to only 75 total yards.
