MAPLETOWN – David Morgan threw one touchdown pass and ran for two others as Carmichaels handed Mapletown a 27-8 defeat in the Tri-County South Conference.

Morgan, who completed 8 of 13 passes for 97 yards, threw a 36-yard TD pass to Johnny Christopher and scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter as the Mikes (1-1, 1-1) took a 14-0 lead.

Mapletown (0-2, 0-2) trimmed the lead to 14-8 at the half on a 13-yard TD catch by Dylan Rush from Dustin Lemley. But a 30-yard fumble return for a score and a second Morgan touchdown run in the fourth quarter allowed the Mikes to pull away.

Nick Mundell had 103 yard rushing on 17 carries for Carmichaels.

Rush had 19 carries for 87 yards, and Lemley completed 7 of 12 passes for 88 yards for Mapletown, which fumbled six times, losing two.
