Carmichaels comes back to beat Beth-Center

CARMICHAELS – Emma Lowry’s single scored Laura Walker from third base and finished off a furious comeback by Carmichaels against Beth-Center in a 6-5 Section 2-AA victory by the Mikes Tuesday.
The Mikes (2-1, 3-4) trailed 5-1 entering the sixth inning but scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game and the winning run with no outs in the seventh.
Gina Ranieri tripled and Walker got the win for the Mikes.
Abby Gustovich took the loss for Beth-Center (0-2, 0-2).
Thomas Jefferson 1, Belle Vernon 0: Lacie Lautner scattered three hits in seven innings as Thomas Jefferson shut out Belle Vernon, 1-0, in a Section 3-AAA high school girls softball game.
Bailey Parshall took the loss for the Leopards (0-1, 4-3) despite allowing just one hit, a single to Alysa Fairman.
Kourtney Gavatorta had two of the hits against the Jaguars (1-0, 4-1), including a double.
Brownsville 10, Washington 0:
Senior pitcher Tiffany Markovitch threw a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Brownsville beat Washington 10-0 in a Section 2-AA game.
The Falcons (2-0, 3-2) had seven hits, including three by Celena Smith. The Prexies (0-2, 0-2).
South Fayette 3, Keystone Oaks 2:
Bailey Kormick drove in two and struck out five to lead South Fayette to a 5-3 win over Keystone Oaks in a Section 2-AAA game.
Marissa France also went 2-for-2 with an RBI single and Delaney Ging hit a triple for the Lions (1-0, 4-2), who overcame seven errors. Lauren McMillen had five strikeouts for Keystone Oaks (0-1, 1-6).
