O’FALLON, Mo. – River City scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to defeat the Wild Things, 11-9, Sunday to complete a three-game series sweep at CarShield Field.

Washington has lost a season-high six games in a row and finished its nine-game road trip with a 2-7 record. The Wild Things are home Tuesday for a doubleheader against Lake Erie. The opener is the completion of a game that was suspended because of rain May 22.

River City led 10-3 before the Wild Things mounted a comeback and scored six times in the seventh inning to close to within 10-9.

Jimmy Yezzo and Grant Fink each hit home runs for Washington. Chris Grayson had three singles and two stolen bases.

Luke Wilkins (2-5) was the losing pitcher. Joe Pavlovich (2-3) pitched into the sixth inning for River City.

Both of Pavlovich’s wins have come against Washington.
