Abbott quells Rebellion offense

Monica Abbott outdueled Dallas Escobedo Wednesday night, limiting the Pennsylvania Rebellion to two hits and striking out six in the Houston Scrap Yard Dawgs’ 2-0 victory in an NPF game.

Houston got all the runs it needed in the first inning when Kiki Stokes singled, stole second and scored on a single by Madison Shipman.

Houston made it 2-0 in the fourth inning when Shipman led off with a single and came around to score on a double by Amanda Fama.

Escobedo pitched four innings, striking out six and walking one. Emily Weiman pitched two innings of shutout relief. Victoria Hayward and Stacey Porter had the Rebellion’s hits.
