Young, Anthony lead Western Beaver past Avella

AVELLA – The combination of quarterback Jeddy Young and wide receiver Turner Anthony proved to be too much for Avella as Western Beaver edged the Eagles, 14-6, in a non-conference high school football game Friday night.

Young threw touchdown passes of 10 and 14 yards to Anthony and the duo also had a two-point conversion to account for all 14 points for Western Beaver (1-0).

Dalton Simonelli had a 15-yard touchdown run for the Eagles (0-1). Simonelli led Avella with 36 yards rushing while completing 9 of 21 passes for 51 yards and two interceptions.

Zack Cannon and Steve Miller had 10 tackles each for Avella.
