Wild Things shut down Windy City
Chase Cunningham pitched six strong innings to help the Washington Wild Things to a 3-0 victory over Windy City Tuesday night in a Frontier League Game.
The win moved Washington back to .500 at 45-45 while Windy City fell to 39-51.
Cunningham tossed six shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out nine. Kolin Stanley and Devon Davis combined for three shutout innings and allowed just one hit.
Washington took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning when Ricky Rodriguez scored from third on a Jimmy Yezzo groundout and Grant Fink doubled in David Popkins, who also doubled one out earlier.
The Wild Things stretched the lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning when Austin Wobrock smacked a solo home run.
