MOON TOWNSHIP — Khalen Cumberlander and Austin Nehls combined for 35 points and Central Connecticut opened a four-game road trip with a 65-60 win over Robert Morris Thursday night.

The Dukes played without sophomore forward Elijan Minnie, a Monessen native. Head coach Andy Toole said that Minnie, who transferred from Monessen to Lincoln Park for his final two seasons of high school basketball, has been suspended from the team indefinitely.

The Blue Devils built a 16-point lead in the first half, taking a 9-0 lead five minutes into the game. By halftime they led 36-20.

But the Colonials got traction out of halftime and cut the lead to 10 five minutes into the period. Isaiah Still knocked down a 3-pointer with 4:49 left to make it 57-48 to start a personal 10-point run that got Robert Morris within five, 60-55.

But the Colonials could get no closer.

Cumberlander finished with 18 points and Nehls added 17 for Central Connecticut (3-19, 2-9 Northeastern). Brandon Peel scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds — one shy of his career high.

Still scored 19 points to lead the Colonials (6-18, 4-7).
