WATERFORD – Fort LeBoeuf erased an early 9-6 South Fayette lead and defeated the Lions, 47-12, in the preliminary round of the PIAA Class AA Team Wrestling Tournament Monday.

Ben Previte’s pin at 152 pounds and Christian Dedi’s decision at 170 gave the Lions (16-7) a short-lived lead as the Bison (12-2) won the next three bouts, including a pin by Drew Rose at 195 to take a 19-9 advantage.

Rausaun Culberson picked up a 10-4 decision at heavyweight for the Lions, the third-place finisher in the WPIAL, but the Bison, the second-place team from District 10, won the final six bouts to secure the victory and advance to the team championships in Hershey Thursday.

Defending PIAA champion Mike Carr, who typically wrestles at 145 pounds, did not compete for South Fayette.
